The work can only be executed at night when the dome salon is not in use by the costumers. From late afternoon on until midnight strings of butterflies, lined up on nylon, are prepared.

The butterfly-nylon strings are suspended from the central chandelier to the nerves of the crystal dome. For the string-to-nerve attachment custom made clamps are produced. Pressure based jaw-clamps with strong, slightly sharpened teeth are used to attach to the smaller t-shaped steel-nerves. Adjustable wing-clamps are used to grab around the broad but delicate ornamental nerves. To the eye of the viewer the clamps are hidden by the cornice.
